MAX FRANCIS
BIO

Max Francis is a composer and multi-instrumentalist from Victoria, British Columbia. In 2025, at age 14, he became the youngest person in history to win the Canadian Grand Masters Fiddling Competition, where he also won the People's Choice and Best Waltz awards. Max is also the current US National Old Time Fiddle Champion in the 17-and-under and Youth Swing categories, the Grand North American Fiddle Champion, and 3-time BC Fiddle Champion. In addition, Max is an accomplished classical violinist and has performed as a soloist with the Victoria Symphony and a featured artist with the Emily Carr String Quartet. His classical compositions have been awarded the highest honours at Canada’s National Music Festival. Max also plays 6-string and tenor guitar, mandolin, banjo, piano, and bodhran.

ALBUM RELEASE

Home is the first album by composer and multi-instrumentalist Max Francis. Max composed and arranged all of the tunes, played all of the instruments, and recorded and mixed it himself at his home in Victoria, British Columbia during spring and summer 2024, when Max had just turned 13 years old.
