MAX FRANCIS
BIO
Max Francis is a 14-year-old composer and multi-instrumentalist from Victoria, Canada. He is the current Canadian fiddling champion and US junior fiddling champion. Max is also an accomplished classical violinist and has performed as a soloist with the Victoria Symphony. His classical compositions have been awarded the highest honours at Canada’s National Music Festival. In 2024, Max released his debut album "Home", featuring all original tunes for fiddle. In addition to composing and arranging all of the tunes on the album, Max also played all of the instruments and produced the album himself. "Home" is nominated for four awards for the 2026 Canadian Folk Music Awards, including Traditional Album of the Year. Besides fiddle, Max also plays guitar, mandolin, banjo, piano, and bodhran.

"Home" is the first album by composer and multi-instrumentalist Max Francis. Max composed and arranged all of the tunes, played all of the instruments, and recorded and mixed it himself at his home in Victoria, British Columbia during spring and summer 2024, when Max had just turned 13 years old.
